| 1. The Divine Invasion Today the eye of God has opened in the mind of man ~ or some men at least, and also women. This miracle has occurred often in the past, and history itself is a legacy given to humanity by its God-illumined, God-realized, or God-possessed individuals. But is there something different about such awakenings today? Are there more of them? Is it happening on a mass scale? Is the world in the grip of a divine invasion? I know for a fact that the answer is yes, because I'm a member of the invading force. Like countless other individuals alive today, I've had experiences of God-realization, and am constantly striving to manifest it in the outer world. This is never an easy task, for though God may be unitary, the experiences of God are as myriad as the experiencers. It's true that there are certain essential features common to most such experiences, and certain ineffable secrets known only to the God-realized by which we may recognize each other; nevertheless, there are infinite modes of divine expression available to the initiates, and some are extremely idiosyncratic. In fact, some divinely enlightened individuals are perceived as insane by ordinary people. Since I've already weathered this risk and gotten my official government fiat as a madman, I can afford to step out on a limb and tell you what I see through the eye of God ~ which is another way of saying my own Third Eye, my uniquely-skewered twist of an omniscient overview of the world as it is, and was, and shall come to be. As you read my divinely-inspired scribings, I ask only that you bear in mind Saint Murphy's Law: if my prophecies come true, it proves the guidance of the hand of God; but if any of them miss the mark, it's all the fault of flawed human beings who ignore God's will, reject God's grace, and screw up the workings of Providence! 2. The God Project As far as I've been able to determine so far, the great majority of my fellow God-realizers seem to be happy with life in postmodern times, and don't see any need for the divine invasion to overthrow the ungodly and inhuman Empire that is now in the final stages of consolidating its total iron rule over planet Earth. The irony, of course, is that some of the chief perpetrators claim to be doing it in the name of God. The imperial crusade to subjugate or finally destroy the human soul is supported by the psycho-totalitarian mind-control mesh of the electronic media, pumping neverending spectacles of sex and violence into the mass mind, glorifying degeneracy, cruelty, sadism, self-indulgence, and materialism. Even if any of the manifestations of God in the old religions and belief-systems have a spark of the true Spirit left in them, they still seem powerless to halt the decay and collective insanity that assails the human species and threatens to destroy the world. Surely the divine invasion has the potential to carry the human understanding of God beyond the limitations and dogmas of the earlier forms. Perhaps the reality and presence of God can manifest in an entirely new way, carrying the species to the next stage of its evolution, in the full metaphysical sense of that term. I have a plan by which this seeming miracle can be accomplished. God-realization is of course subjective, so the proof is in the pudding, just as with everything else. Many people have seen the divine light, and some have changed their own lives to align themselves with their inner vision. The hardest part, though, and a more advanced stage, is when the individual enters upon the Great Work of collective salvation, and begins to shed his blood for his kindred human beings. I invite you to examine my plan in the text that follows, and if your own spark of Spirit or shard of God resonates in harmony, perhaps you'll wish to collaborate in the project to prepare the way and herald the coming of a new manifestation of God in the world. 3. What If the Global Mind Went Mad? Many people respond to these ideas by saying that God already has the situation in hand, that the timetable for the salvation of the world is right on schedule, and that the divine invasion can only awaken the souls of the people one by one, plodding along with a strictly individual caseload. If this were true, the universe would surely end or hell freeze over by the time every sentient being got liberated, or even all the humans on planet Earth. To meet this objection, however, some imaginative souls concocted a scenario in which the accumulating number of enlightened individuals will hit "critical mass", triggering a nuclear-type reaction in which the Godmind will awaken in the rest of the human race all at once, literally overnight. The resulting "Global Mind Change", according to this script, will then usher in a regime of permanent peace, worldwide prosperity, and universal brother-sisterhood for everyone forever. My critique of such beliefs has always been that they are pollyanna at best, and in service to the Empire at worst, unwittingly working for the opposite ends. This was well illustrated in the recent historical turn of events. The surge of belief in the "critical mass/Global Mind Change" theory, involving a goodly proportion of intelligent, sophisticated, and even God-realized individuals, reached a peak at the turning of the third millennium, i.e. 1999/2000. When that milestone passed with no sign of apocalypse in either a religious or secular mode (e.g., the Y2K computer bug), it was assumed that humanity had entered Electrotopia, the future was secured, and the moment of critical mass was imminent. If this had been a mere collective idyl, it might have been harmless; but in fact many people were so lost in such utopian fantasies that they enthusiastically supported globalism on all fronts ~ spiritual, cultural, and political ~ scoffing at the dangers inherent in the centralization of power. In such a climate, the most scurrilous minds in the innermost circles were free to hatch their Machiavellian plots for a "new Pearl Harbor" to bring an "American century" of imperial aggression and totalitarian rule. So the dreamers were rudely awakened on 9/11/2001, when the Global Mind Change turned out to be a regression to medieval holy war, and all the polarized, dualized, us-vs.-them enmity that goes with it. The only "advance" is that it's now being fought with the deadly high-tech weaponry of Electrotopia. |
